Playland  Park

Nestled in Rye, the Playland Park is an amusement land full of spills, thrills, and turns. Also known as the Rye Playland, it is the only park in the United States to be owned and managed by the government. The major landmarks in the Playland Park are Kiddyland, the Arcade, Boardwalk, Ice Casino, and the Pool and Beach. All these zones are so well brought up that anybody from a kid to a senior citizen will surely enjoy a day here without any complaints.

    The Ice Casino offers an ice rink, a kiddie rink, mid-sized rink, a dance floor, restaurant, a café, and small dining rooms. One of the ‘Derby Racers’ is at the park, which spins at 40 km/hr with the horses moving in all the directions.

    Boardwalk is where you can walk along the seaside and take the views of the Long Island Sound. There are good eating options here. In summers, you have the opportunity to dance on the music of the Milt Gerver Orchestra occasionally.

    At the beach and pool, you will enjoy taking a dip in the waters for $4.00 (adult) and $3.00 (child) respectively from 4 to 6 p.m. Strictly, after 6, there is no entry.

    You can also pedal on the boats or go for kayaking. A pedal boat for 2 people will cost $10.00 per hour with a deposit of $5. You can even opt for a lake cruise for 20 to 25 minutes for $5.00. Kayaking to the Long Island Sound is only available from May to September.
