Camelot Theme Park of England – Perfect for Groups and Families

Camelot theme park

Situated in the Charnock Richard town of Lancashire, the Camelot Theme Park is a resort cum theme park inspired by the Camelot tale. Owned by the Story Group and managed by the Knights Leisure Limited, the park offers over 25 attractions including 5 roller coasters and water rides. With the induction of roller coasters, the park showers more fun and excitement on those who are crazy behind trying these adventurous rides. Even its slogan is quite adventurous – 'The land of great knights, and amazing days'. For children and adults who are not so mad about coasters, there are various other exhilarating rides as well.

Main Rides

To know these, we (I and my family) first had to know about the eight realms. These are Main Street, U.S.A offering the Midwest childhood town of Walt Disney, Adventureland full of forest escapade, Frontierland exhibiting the western frontier, Fantasyland featuring many whimsy rides, Tomorrowland taking you into the future, New Orleans Square dedicated to New Orleans of the 19th century, Critter Country, and Mickey's Toontown. Listed below are the major rides in each of these realms.

  • Knightmare as a traditional Schwarzkopf coaster
  • Excalibur 2 as a Fabbri Progression
  • Whirlwind
  • Dragon Flyer as the only coaster running on diesel in the world looping the Camelot theme park's lower section
  • Junior Dragon Coaster
  • Caterpillar Capers as a Pinfari Apple
  • The Galleon as a wavering pirate vessel
  • Falcon's Flight as a balloon rideCamelot theme park
  • Pendragon's Plunge as a triple water slide
  • Log Flume
  • Cup & Sorcerer
  • Kingdom in the Clouds as a giant wheel
  • Bertie's Driving with additional cost
  • Junior Galleon
  • Sir Lancelot's Chargers as a two level carousel
  • Jousting Horses as a horse ride
  • Human cannonball
  • Clown around!
  • Sky divers
  • Towers of Fun as a play zone
  • Jousting Knight Dodgems
  • Dungeons of Doom as an eerie train
  • Other Attractions

You can take pleasure in go karts with an additional cost or explore the Merlin's Indoor Playland. In addition, if you are tired of walking in the Camelot theme park, the Playland Express, a train, can take you anywhere in the park. Besides these highlights, there are currently three shows held at the park namely, the Jousting Tournament, Merlin's Magic Show, and Merlin's School of Wizardry.

The Jousting Tournament is a live dispute by the Knights under the guidance of an actor called King Arthur. This can be seen at the Avalon Arena and it is the only full time dispute field in the UK. Merlin's Magic Show and School of Wizardry take place in the Merlin's castle. The former show exhibits a magical talent, while the latter educates you about how to do magic.

    Camelot theme park

For families and groups of any size, the Camelot theme park offers a myriad of thrilling activities other than rides. There are trips to social and youth clubs, driving schools, golf, play schemes, and junior football clubs for a reasonable cost. Eating Options

From chips to burgers, the Camelot theme park has something to offer catering to each visitor's taste. There are many outlets spread across the park to offer some refreshing salads, pastas, and burger meals. Look for a Wimpy Restaurant for such type of eateries. This means that you can even have some healthy food items here besides junk food. And yes, ice creams stands surely offer good stuff for chilling down in the scorching heat of summer. If you like to sit down and eat with your group, the park provides a myriad of picnic areas.

If you are planning to come here with a group, it is recommended that you upgrade the tickets so that they also include a meal.
